Our Bureau

NEW DELHI, Sept. 18

HCL Infinet, the Internet subsidiary of HCL Infosystems, on Monday launched its business-to-consumer (B2C) horizontal portal, www.hclinfinet.com.

``With the launch of our portal, we hope to reach to a wide spectrum of consumers through the emerging Internet medium. Our portal will offer the most comprehensive suite of services and will serve as a one-stop shop for our consumers,'' Mr Saurav Adhika ri, President of HCL Infinet, said.

For content, the company would leverage its joint venture with Asian Age, a company release said.

Mr Adhikari said that HCL Infinet would soon be rolling out its Internet providing services in 42 cities across the country.

``We have invested heavily in technology such as the latest ATM-Frame relay network, single access across the country, international standard port to subscriber ratio, fibre optic connection for the last mile in major locations,'' he added.

HCL Infinet is also in discussions with several international and domestic players for providing a multitude of options.

The company is being assisted by Andersen Consulting in putting these alliances in place, the release added.
