TVS-Suzuki sells 75,684 vehicles in November

NEW DELHI, Dec 5

TVS-SUZUKI Ltd has sold 75,684 vehicles in November 2000, comprising of 31,837 motorcycles, 12,526 scooters and scooterettes, and 31,321 mopeds. The company has registered a growth of 17 per cent in motorcycles as compared to sales of 27,208 motorcycles in November 1999.

According to a company release, the Suzuki Fiero, the 150cc four-stroke bike has recorded sales of 6,588 units in November. It is planning to increase capacity of the Fiero to meet the rise in demand, the release mentioned.

For the period April to November 2000, TVS-Suzuki has sold 5,95,295 vehicles, comprising 2,35,080 motorcycles, 1,03,069 scooters and 2,57,146 mopeds. For the same period last year, the company had sold 5,39,261 vehicles, comprising 2,08,492 motorcycles, 81,946 scooters and scooterettes, and 2,48,823 mopeds, registering an overall growth of 10 per cent.

TVS Suzuki has a 24 per cent market share in the two-wheeler industry with a turnover of Rs 1,600 crore.
