CEGAT bench in Bangalore
Our Bureau
BANGALORE, Dec. 5
THE Customs Excise and Gold (Control) Appellate Tribunal has constituted an additional Southern Bench at Bangalore with jurisdiction over the States of Karnataka, Kerala and the Mahe Commune of the Union Territory of Pondicherry and Union Territory of La
kshadweep.
The Southern Zonal Bench at Bangalore had been situated at the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI).
FKCCI, which had been requesting the Government over the past few years for setting up the Bench, had welcomed the decision and felt said that it would save time and cost to the business community, which otherwise would have had to travel to Chennai to f
ile appeals. It would also help in speedier disposal of cases, it said.
