.info domains to roll out from April

NEW DELHI: Signdomains.com from Polar Software Ltd, the IT arm of the $75 million Polar Group of industries, has got the new unrestricted top level domain (tld), .info, which will be available through Afilias, a consortium of 19 registrars. This was anno unced by ICANN at a recent meeting in California.

Afilias, co-founded by Signdomains.com alongwith various other ICANN accredited registrars, has been awarded the first new tld since .com.

The consortium plans to roll out .info from around April, according to company officials. Other co-founders include Register.com, Tucows and Network Solutions Inc. -- Our Bureau
