Spike buys Cadence EDA tool suite

BANGALORE: Cadence Design Systems's complete suite of EDA tools has been acquired by Spike Technologies, a design services company.

The suite has been purchased for back-end place-and-route implementation of gate SOC chips.

Spike hopes to increase the services provided to its customer base through the purchase.

Cadence sees the sale as an indication of the growing activity in electronic design in India as well as the need for the one-stop EDA solutions it provides.

Cadence, a $1.1-billion California-based company, is a supplier of electronic design automation products, methodology services and design services. -- Our Bureau
