TMB ties up with Infosys

CHENNAI, Dec. 5
TAMILNAD Mercantile Bank (TMB) has entered into a strategic technology partnership with Infosys Technologies Ltd to revamp the bank's information technology infrastructure.
According to a TMB press release, the bank plans to replace its decentralised branch automation systems with that of Infosys's core banking e-platform, Finacle. TMB will initially implement Finacle at 40 of its top branches, and this will later be implem
ented in the other branches, said the press release.
Finacle is a centralised and integrated corporate, retail and trade finance solution designed to extend the bank's reach to the entire enterprise, from the front office to the back office. It leverages Web technology to enable the bank to integrate with
surround Web applications.
TMB also plans to deploy Internet banking and other e-commerce based services through Bank Away, the e-commerce platform of Infosys, said the press release.
