Goodlass plans internal revamp

Our Bureau

MUMBAI, Dec. 8

GOODLASS Nerolac Paints Ltd is planning an internal reorganisation, according to Mr T.R. Venkatesh, Managing Director.

He was speaking at the launch of the company's new plastic exterior paint `Nerolac Suraksha'.

The company had raised its ad budget by 50 per cent to Rs 18 crore for the current year, he said.

Goodlass plans to increase its marketshare in the decorative segment to 18 per cent from the current 14 per cent by the end of 2003. The overall targeted marketshare was 25 per cent from the current 20 per cent, he said.

The company will also invest in information technology initiatives such as installing ERP and SAP. ``We are also considering extension of our IT services to our B2B customers,'' said Mr Venkatesh.

The company became a subsidiary of the Japanese paints major - Kansai Ltd - in February this year.

The 700-crore company's new product - Surakha - has been launched as an alternative to cement paints. Nerolac Suraksha is available in 33 shades.
