Global meet to put Kerala on fast track of growth

KOCHI, Dec 8

A 3-day international partnership summit, aimed at putting Kerala on the fast track of development, will be held here on January 4 - 6, 2001.

The conference titled `Kerala Fast Forward - Global Business Summit 2001', organised by Kochi-based business magazine Dhanam in association with the Kerala Government, will hold indepth discussions on a wide variety of topics such as using NRI expertise and capital for Kerala's development, investment opportunities, development of basic infrastructure facilities etc.

The conference would provide an opportunity to the business community in the State for financial, technical and marketing tie-ups with various business and community leaders. It would also help them identify suitable projects for community development an d source funding, said Mr Kurian Abraham, Editor and Managing Director, Dhanam Publications, at a press conference here.

Business Clinics for striking business deals would be a major speciality of the conference. It would provide services of top brass officials and experts of the sectors concerned to solve industry-related problems and render all the necessary help, he add ed.

The Kerala Chief Minister, Mr E.K.Nayanar, the Union Minister of State for Railways, Mr O. Rajagopal, the State Industry Minister, Ms Susheela Gopalan, The World Bank Vice-President, Mr Vinod Thomas, the Executive Director of the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce are some of the top brass

to attend the summit.
