Fruity and different

Joseph Fernandez

Question: What do a NASA scientist, a best-selling novelist, top rock-star and a dolphin learning to communicate with humans have in common? The definitely unbelievable answer: An Apple Macintosh Computer.

Since its beginning in 1984, Apple Corporation and its maverick founders have gone on a dizzying ride of fluctuating fortunes. The global launch of the Internet in 1993 changed all that.

In an acknowledgement of the market realities, Apple Computer once advertised its Apple Macintosh range as `the computer for the rest of us' -- a chosen tribe of global achievers ranging from archaeologists to ecologists, film makers, rock stars and nove lists. Not to mention the dolphin referred to earlier.

Curious? Visit www.apple.com/applemasters and you will realise that the resurgence of Apple Computer has been powered by the enthusiastic support of die-hard Mac loyalists across the globe.

While at the Apple Web site, do check out the I-cards section: the array of stunning cards can be customised to your needs -- complete with a Mac-based e-mail address. Of particular interest is the Apple `Think Different' corporate campaign, which famous ly featured Mahatma Gandhi. In any case, Apple i-cards are just the sort of thing you need to beat a postal strike with! Think different, if you please.
