Spices Board to take part in Shanghai food fair

COONOOR, Feb. 21
SPICES Board plans to participate in the Food Ingredients Asia-China exhibition to be held at Shanghai from April 3 to 5.
It has decided to set up a stall and has invited exporters interested in displaying their products to send samples to its office in Kochi. Exporters can also operate through the board's stall.
``Some 500 companies from different countries will participate at the fair. Around 12,000 food industry professionals from all over the world with a great accent on China will visit the exhibition. China Food Additive production and Application Industry
Association is joining hands with us in the conduct of the exhibition'' said Ms Annelies Hofman, Marketing Manager of Miller Freeman, the organisers of the show.
Another Food Ingredient Asia exhibition and conference will take place in Singapore from May 22 to 24.
``We expect 150 companies from various nations to display their products and look forward to about 5,000 attendees from the food industry,'' Ms Hofman told Business Line.
She said the focus of the conference would be the `Emerging trends in innovative food ingredients'. Accent would be laid on neutraceuticals and functional foods, new ingredients for food and beverage applications and IT in the food industry.
``Many are repeat participants. If there is sufficient demand, we will be happy to allot a separate pavilion for India,'' she said.
