Subex, Primal in pact for billing solution

BANGALORE, Feb. 25

SUBEX Systems Ltd, the Bangalore-based telecom software company, has entered into an alliance with Primal Billing Solutions of Irvine, California to develop software in the telecom billing area.

The company will develop software to help Primal to offer advanced solutions for next generation billing and customer care needs of its customers.

Mr Subhash Menon, Chairman and Managing Director of Subex, said that his company would address the entire spectrum from conceptualisation to implementation of software solutions within the core product offering of Primal.

The alliance, which has already commenced operations, is expected to grow in the months to come.

Primal provides a complete `Switch to Bill' suite of OSS/BSS solutions focused on the needs of the emerging IP and wireless communications service providers.

Its products currently support over 11 million subscribers worldwide with service providers such as BTCellnet, Hutchison Australia, Bellsouth International, Alltel and Western Wireless.

Subex will carry out development to enhance the core functionality of the Primal product offering, Outfront.

The enhancements will include next generation rating, advanced IP compatibility, etc.

The company reported a turnover of Rs 40.66 crore for the nine-month period ended December 2000, and a net profit of Rs 7.96 crore, a growth of 136 per cent and 178 per cent respectively over the corresponding previous year.

The annualised EPS on equity of Rs 7.12 crore works out to Rs 14.89.
