Shipping Corporation net profit zooms to Rs 401.59 crore

Shipping Corporation of India Ltd (SCI) has registered a significant rise in net profit to Rs 401.59 crore for 2000-2001, against Rs 161.61 crore in the previous fiscal.

Net sales/income from operations for the period was Rs 3055.48 crore (Rs 2542.76 crore), a company press release said.

Other income was Rs 153.40 crore (Rs 71.99 crore).

Total income rose to Rs 3,208.88 crore (Rs 2,614.75 crore).

Interest outgo amounted to Rs 78.08 crore (Rs 72.42 crore), while depreciation was Rs 253.70 crore (Rs 274.81 crore).

Provision for taxation was Rs 177 crore (Rs 41.02 crore). EPS stood at Rs 14.23 (Rs 5.72). -- Our Bureau
