AP Transco efforts to reduce losses in distribution

HYDERABAD, April 30

ANDHRA Pradesh Transmission Corporation Ltd (AP Transco) is striving to reduce primary distribution losses to the minimum by having high voltage distribution system and installing seperate transformers to different complexes of concentrated loads, accord ing to Mr P.M.K. Gandhi, Managing Director of Central Power Distribution Co Ltd.

Inaugurating a conference on `Modern Techniques and Practices of Assessment and Reduction of Transmission and Distribution Losses', here on Monday, Mr Gandhi said that the LT less distrinution system was being implemented in many areas in the State.

The five-day conference, organised by the Engineering Staff College of India, was being attended by the representatives of the various electricity utility companies in the country.
