Seminar on service tax

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Eastern India Regional Council organized a study circle meeting on Service Tax provisions.

The Chief Speaker, Mr Vijay K. Chopra, Advocate, said that the assessees were not very clear regarding value of taxable services especially in case of non-banking financial companies which were brought into the tax net as per the current finance bill.

The meeting was attended by a large number of members. The Chairman of the Branch, Mr M. Ahmed, Mr S.K. Bhartia, FCA and Mr P.Maskara, FCA also addressed the meeting. -- Our Bureau
