Orange slashes deposit rates
MUMBAI: Orange, one of the cellular service providers in Mumbai, has slashed its security deposit rates by 25 per cent.
The deposit amount for its cellular service has come down from Rs 2,000 to Rs 1,500.
The company which markets the Orange brand, Hutchinson Max Telecom Ltd, said it expected this move to help in further expanding the market for mobile phone services.
This is the first time after December 1999 that the security deposit has been reduced, said a company news release.
``Entry cost plays a key role in consumer decision making as he considers his first move to mobile phone services,'' said Mr Sanjeev Vohra, Vice-President, Sales and Marketing at Orange. -- Our Bureau
