Ceasefire and after
C. P. Velayudhan Nair, e-mail
The Government has decided not to extend the unilateral ceasefire at the border but, instead, has invited the Pakistan premier, Gen Pervez Musharraf, for a meaningful dialogue on the dispute between the two countries. Now the ball is in Pakistan's court.
Our neighbour should view things in the proper perspective and respond positively rather than engage in terrorist activities.
It is time this 53-year old unpleasantness between the two countries disappears in the larger interest of both countries. The military regime of Pakistan should rise to the occasion at this juncture.
