Hero & Bajaj: May skid

The stocks of Bajaj Auto and Hero Honda may show flat trends with possible downside, especially in the former. Hero Honda has reported a growth of 35 per cent in June which may be viewed as lower than what has come to be expected of it.

Bajaj Auto has ended month with a decline of 6 per cent (despite a 11 per cent rise in production) as compared to the same month last year and given the sizeable incentives offered to consumers, such growth rates may not be healthy for the bottomline. In this backdrop, the stocks may show a sluggish trend in the near term. -- BL Research Bureau
