THE Calcutta Stock Exchange on Monday, the first day of the rolling settlement, saw its turnover drop to Rs 52.23 crore from Rs 133.07 crore on last Friday.
According to brokers, trading session was not as volatile as it was apprehended to be. However, liquidity was a problem.
The Satyam Computers scrip recorded the day's highest turnover of Rs 16.69 crore and made an intraday gain of 6.28 per cent.
Among the losers were the counters of PentaMedia Graphics, HFCL, Global Tele, RIL, HLL and Digital Equipment.
The CSE-50 closed at 118.43 points against the previous closing of 116.38. -- Our Bureau
