Our Bureau
NEW DELHI, July 11
THE Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has authorised the Department of Commerce to issue a notification on the minimum support price (MSP) for natural rubber from time to time. The MSP will be notified under Section 13 of the Rubber Act.
``The Government will now have to declare MSP for natural rubber from time to time as it is bound by the Kerala High Court directive. The orders of Kerala High Court requiring the Central Government to fix and notify minimum price for rubber has been con
firmed by the Supreme Court,'' Mr Pramod Mahajan, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, told newspersons here.
CCEA has also accorded ex-post facto approval for continuing with the procurement of rubber by STC with effect from October 2000 within a ceiling of 10,000 tonnes.
