Unesco chief to visit India

NEW DELHI: The Director General of Unesco, Mr Koichiro Matsuura, will make his first official visit to India between July 22-25.

During the visit, the Director General will call on the President, Mr K.R. Narayanan, and meet the Human Resources Development Minister, Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Dr Najma Heptulla, the Minister of Tourism and Cultur e, Mr Ananth Kumar, and the Secretary (Education), Mr M.K. Kaw.

He will also visit important places like Rajghat, Qutab Minar, Indian National Science Academy and attend cultural functions. -- Our Bureau
