MUMBAI, July 20
WITH liberalisation of foreign trade and increase in volumes of export and import, commodity survey and superintending services in the country are undergoing perceptible changes. Expansion of facilities and services as also collaboration seem to be gaini
ng ground. Integral to international trade, inspection and certification services are critical for its success.
In order to provide comprehensive credit support services of international standards in the country, Dr Amin Superintendents and Surveyors _ belonging to the city-based RCA group _ has formed a joint venture with Geneva-based ACE-Audit Control and Expert
ise SA, an international credit support organisation providing third-party asset management, quality assurance, and inspection services.
The joint venture company known as ACE-Audit Control and Expertise (India) will provide to Indian corporates and trading houses a series of services including collateral management, field warehousing, agricultural credit management, inspection, training
and consultancy.
According to Mr Siddharth R. Amin, the joint venture is a strategic move intended to provide to players comprehensive services that are necessary for the success of international trade but not presently available in the country.
The RCA group established in 1975 has a nation-wide network of offices and is actively engaged in a range of inspection services for agri-commodities, bulk vegetable oils, fertilisers, chemicals and petroleum products, apart from industrial inspection an
d audit as also insurance related services. Its certificates are recognised by international bodies such as FOSFA, GAFTA etc.
Talking to Business Line Mr Andre Soumah, Executive Chairman of ACE, said the company was created as a result of perceived market requirement for an agency that focuses on the mitigation of transactional risks inherent in trade, whether local, regional o
r international.
