Large withdrawals at ICTA auction

BANGALORE: About 92 per cent of the coffee on offer at the Indian Coffee Traders' Association (ICTA) auction on Thursday was withdrawn. Poor offtake, large withdrawls and small quantities bought by domestic buyers and exporters for immediate requirement has been the trend for the last few weeks months now. Prices dropped by Rs 2-3 on all varieties.

Internationally, the arabica prices improved marginally, but there is a zero premium on weather right now, say analysts. Robustas continued in a tight range between origin selling and roaster buying.

Arabica parchment PB sold for an average of Rs 56.16 per kg (Rs 56.70); arabica parchment A Rs 58.64 (Rs58.68); arabica parchment B Rs 46.12 (Rs 46.98); arabica parchment C Rs 44.36 (Rs 44.60); arabica parchment BBB Rs 30.70 (Rs 27.16).

(Rs 52.80); arabica cherry C Rs 28.88 (Rs 29.08); arabica cherry BBB Rs 23.98 (Rs 23.28).
