Banana auction being held at a road side at Kumaramputhur in Kerala's Palakkad district. Under the Kerala Horticulture Development Programme (KHDP), farmers sell their vegetables directly to vendors. About 5 per cent of the sales proceeds is paid to KHDP
as a service fee. In this auction, bananas were sold at Rs 10 per kg.
