Steady growth in value-added spices export
EXPORTS of value-added spices have shown a steady growth, while that of pepper, which used to occupy the top slot in the Indian spices exports, continues to decline.

THE recent publication of customs notification fixing tariff values for crude palm oil, refined palm oil and refined palmolein is turning curious, even as the Government may be forced to go on the defensive if challenged over the date of actual publicati on.

Palm oil tariff change in effective date sought
SEVERAL edible oil consignments, the documents of which were cleared by customs houses on August 3 as per routine assessment procedure (without bringing them under the ambit of notification fixing tariff value for palm oils), may be re-assessed and less- charge demand slapped, importers fear.
