Lakshmi Auto net profit at Rs 4.07 crore

Lakshmi Auto Components Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 4.07 crore for the first half of the current year, as against Rs 5.80 crore in the same period last year - a decline of 29.82 per cent.

The companys turnover was Rs 41.73 crore, marginally down from Rs 41.98 crore in the first-half of 2000. However, `other income was higher at Rs 41.68 lakh as against Rs 19.02 lakh previously.

Total expenditure amounted to Rs 26.88 crore in the first-half of 2001. This works out to 64.41 per cent of sales. Comparatively, in the first-half of 2000, total expenditure was Rs 27.53 crore, which was 65.57 per cent of sales.

Interest charges were higher at Rs 3.05 crore, as against Rs 2.78 crore previously. Depreciation was Rs 5.76 crore, as against Rs 4.57 crore in H1 2000.

Provision for taxation was Rs 1.40 crore as against Rs 1.48 crore in the first half of last year.

In the full year 2000-01, Lakshmi Auto Components achieved a turnover (including other income) of Rs 86.03 crore and a net profit of Rs 10.80 crore. -- Our Bureau
