Eveready net profit at Rs 14-cr

KOLKATA: Eveready Industries India Ltd, the flagship company of Mr B.M. Khaitan, has registered a net profit of Rs 14.02 crore for the half-year ended September 31, 2001. Net profit for the second quarter was Rs 20.52 crore.

Net sales of the company for the first half and second quarter of financial year 2001-02 was Rs 445.13 crore and Rs 253.93 crore respectively. In the last financial year, the corresponding figures were Rs 468.56 crore and Rs 300.69 crore.

However, the results of this fiscal should not compared with that of the last financial year because the nine tea estates, which were recently sold off the company, are not included in this year's results. -- Our Bureau
