Videocon Q2 net at Rs 39.38 cr

MUMBAI, Oct. 29

VIDEOCON International Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 39.38 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2001 compared to Rs 36.84 crore during the same period in the previous year.

Net sales for the quarter stood at Rs 782.23 crore as against Rs 761.39 crore in the same period last year.

Interest was Rs 47.21 crore (Rs 48.87 crore) while depreciation for the quarter was Rs 29.35 crore (Rs 24.37 crore).

For the nine-month period ended September 30, 2001, the company posted a net profit of Rs 72.95 crore as against Rs 69.88 crore in corresponding period last year.

Net sales for the period were Rs 1,534.50 crore compared to Rs 1,485.55 crore for the same time in the previous year.

Interest for the nine-month period was Rs 90.14 (Rs 96.16 crore) while depreciation was Rs 57.64 crore (Rs 48.03 crore).
