Godrej pact with IIT
Our Bureau
MUMBAI, Nov. 29
GODREJ Industries Ltd and its associate companies today announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai (IIT-B) for facilitating collaboration in a multitude of areas.
Under the pact, Godrej will sponsor student projects and fellowships in the one-and-a-half-year M.Tech and five-year dual degree programmes at IIT-B; sponsor eligible employees of Godrej to the M.Tech and PhD degrees in IIT-B and sponsor R&D projects at
the institute.
The MoU has been brought about by the Godrej Think Tank, formed a few months ago to advise the group on future trends likely to impact its businesses.
The partnership would bring benefit to Godrejs businesses while providing practical experience to the students, said a news release quoting Mr Adi Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Industries, who added: Such technology-oriented initiatives are necessary if India
, as a nation, has to successfully compete globally.
