Foodpro meet from Dec 8

A RAW material sourcing forum to link large food companies and ancillary industries, and country level participation by Australia are some of the added attractions planned at Foodpro 2001 to be held between December 8 and 11 in Chennai by the Confederati on of Indian Industry (CII).

According to a CII press release, the food and technology fair, will showcase the latest developments in food processing, packaging, preservation, quality control and refrigeration.

It would cover the sector from farm gate to the dinner plate, and a wide array of processed and packaged food products will also be on display, the release said.

The exhibition would offer food companies a chance to source technologies, explore dealership opportunities, expand procurement network and product base.

Farmers would have an opportunity to explore the possibilities for forward integration and value addition, the release said.

The raw material sourcing forum would have large hotel chains, fast food chains and food companies presenting their raw material requirements and procurement plans for equipment and products.

t would look at manufacturers of food products machinery, suppliers, traders and wholesalers.

Leading companies such as ITC, NDDB and Foodworld Supermarkets would present their merchandise sourcing plans and requirements of products and raw materials, the release said.

More than 100 companies were participating in the Foodpro expected to attract over 15,000 business visitors.

About 21 Australian companies were also expected to participate in the exhibition, the release said.
