Samsung India wins award

NEW DELHI, Sept. 24

SAMSUNG India Electronics Ltd, the Korean consumer electronics major, has won the first prize in the `consumer electronics' category at the annual `Awards for excellence in electronics', instituted by the Department of Information Technology.

Mr S.S. Lee, Managing Director, Samsung India Electronics Ltd, received the award from Dr Sanjay Paswan, Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology, at an awards function held in the Capital.

The award was given to Samsung India after taking into account parameters such as improvements in productivity, increase in exports, emphasis on R&D by the organisation, quality assurance and the like.
