MUMBAI, Sept. 24

LARSEN & Toubro Ltd has bagged two engineering, procurement and construction contracts from Kuwait National Petroleum Company valued at $14.1 million and $10.7.

The contracts are for revamp of KNPC's sulphur recovery units at their refineries at Shuaiba and Mina Abdullah in Kuwait.

The contracts were awarded to L&T against international competition, said a news release from L&T.

L&T has been entrusted with the total responsibility of these projects including residual process design, detailed engineering, procurement, supply, fabrication, construction, installation and commissioning of the revamped sulphur recovery units.

"The winning of these contracts has further reconfirmed L&T's emerging status as an EPC player outside India,'' said Mr. K Venkataramanan, President (Operations), member of the board at L&T. "L&T's engineering capabilities with 3D model experience is a critical enabler to qualify for such projects.''
