Rubber market mixed

KOTTAYAM, June 30

THE rubber market showed a mixed trend in prices with RSS 4 quoting at Rs 45 per kg on Monday against Rs 44.50 as on Saturday. Major buyers from the tyre sector continued to be absent from the trading circles. Arrivals were low as in the previous weeks.

Most of the dealings were between small growers and dealers in low quantum. Ungraded rubber and latex concentrate remained unchanged with no visible buying interest coming in from any sector, while block rubber ISNR 20 weakened to Rs 43 from Rs 43.25 per kg.

The futures market showed a better trend recording RSS 4 July delivery at Rs 45.60, August delivery at Rs 46.32 and September delivery at Rs 46.30 per kg. The market bounced back after a weak opening on Monday. The spot market rates were as follows on MondayRSS 4— Rs 45 (44.50); RSS 5— 43.25 (43); ungraded rubber 41 (41); ISNR 20— 43 (43.25); latex 37 (37 ).
