All-India cotton meet to discuss quality issues

``EMPOWERING Indian farmers to face challenges especially in quota-free regime from 2005'' will be the theme of the all-India cotton trade conference to be held on July 28 in Mumbai.

In addition to review of crop for 2003-04, there will expert presentations covering qualitative and quantitative needs of textile industry; cotton cultivation aspects including role of Bt cotton in raising yield; integrated cotton farming; role of technology mission on cotton etc. East India Cotton Association (EICA), the organiser,will honour a progressive cotton farmer and a modern ginning and pressing factory for making conscious efforts to achieve higher productivity and maintaining purity.
