Fairever account moves to Orchard

Rina Chandran

Mumbai , July 22

THE Rs 13-crore advertising account of Fairever fairness cream has moved to Orchard Advertising from JWT, according to sources. Fairever, from Chennai-based CavinKare Ltd., is acknowledged as a major player in the Rs 650-crore fairness cream market, with close to a 15 per cent market share.

The account moved to JWT just last November, after CavinKare parted ways with long-time agency, Fountainhead Communications, which handled the account for 10 years. It is believed that there were some "internal issues" at JWT that prompted the move. For Orchard, which handles such accounts as Toyota, Himalaya Drug Company and the regional advertising for Coke in the south, the win is seen as significant. Officials at CavinKare and Orchard could not be reached immediately for comment.
