SBI loan scheme for patients

HYDERABAD: State Bank of India (SBI) has introduced a new loan scheme, especially to benefit the patients suffering from serious diseases.

Under `Medi Plus', patients who need funds at short notice for specialised medical treatment, would be given loans at concessional rate of interest.

The Deputy General Manager, Hyderabad Zonal Office, SBI said the scheme covered serious diseases such as corneal implant, angioplasty, hip and knee replacement surgery, serious accidents and multiple injury surgery.

Mr Lele, who was speaking at the Inter Media Publicity coordination committee meeting, said the special scheme for doctors "Doctors Plus" launched recently was quite successful as only the SBI offered such a scheme with features such as concessional interest, reduced margins and liberal security, a bank release said.
