Livestock revolution predicted

HYDERABAD: With the increasing urbanisation and economic growth, cereal consumption is decreasing and demand for livestock products is increasing.

Hence, a livestock revolution is inevitable in the country, according to Dr K. Pradhan, former Vice-Chancellor of Orissa Agricultural University.

Delivering the keynote address at the two-day workshop on "Feed Technologies and Future Strategies" at the Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University here on Tuesday, Dr Pradhan called for a coordinated effort by Governments, scientists, public and the feed industry for improving the quality of feed and nutrition requirement essential for increasing livestock production.
