Supply Chain Management FedEx adds Iraq in global network map Our Bureau
Mumbai , Aug. 13 FEDERAL Express Corp (FedEx Express) has announced the addition of Iraq to its global network. FedEx Express will offer door-to-door pick up and delivery for shipments in and out of the cities of Baghdad, Basra and Mosul. Apart from serving Iraq's business community, the FedEx Express international network will assist in the transportation of humanitarian aid into the country, including working with Water Missions International and International Aid. "Iraq has the potential to be one of the fastest growing economies and will require integrated end-to-end transportation solutions," said Mr Hamdi Osman, Regional Vice-President, FedEx Middle East, Indian Sub-Continent and Africa. FedEx Express services in Iraq will be operated by the company's global service participant, Falcon Express Inc, which provides delivery services for FedEx in Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, Syria and Yemen. The President of Falcon Express Inc, Mr Mazen Mamlouk, said: "The relationship we have formed with FedEx Express to operate in Iraq will ensure that customers in the region will benefit from reliable, time-definite deliveries." With annual revenues of $22 billion, FedEx Corp is a global provider of transportation, e-commerce and supply chain management services. The company offers integrated business solutions through a network of subsidiaries operating independently, including FedEx Express and FedEx Ground, North America's second largest provider of small-package ground delivery service. Falcon Express Inc is a part of Falcon Aviation Group, which includes Falcon Express Cargo Airlines and Falcon Aviation Services.
