SHEHNAI maestro Bismillah Khan can now travel free of cost by train, thanks to a pass presented to him today by the Railways in recognition to his contribution to Indian music.

The pass, presented personally by the Railways Minister, Mr Nitish Kumar, entitles Mr Khan to travel anywhere within the country by air-conditioned first class with a companion.

Mr Kumar said that the Railways and the entire nation were proud of Mr Khan. "I personally felt exalted in his company," said the Minister, who visited Mr Khan at his hotel today.

The 87-year-old Bharat Ratna recipient is visiting the Capital and had performed in the Parliament on August 7.
