SEEC, IBM sign pact for legacy applications

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , Aug. 13

SEEC Inc., a provider of legacy transformation software and composite applications, and IBM have signed an agreement designed to provide Global 2000 companies with a way to manage the costs and extend the value of legacy applications.

Together IBM and SEEC will target companies that need to leverage and re-use custom-built legacy applications in new collaborative, e-business systems. Under the agreement, IBM Global Services will extend its Legacy Transformation Services offering, including IBM product offerings, with SEEC Mosaic Studio.

Mr Ravi Koka, President and Chief Executive Officer of SEEC, in a statement said, "IBM services' professionals have been using SEEC Mosaic to renovate, integrate, and migrate the legacy applications of customers such as New York Life. Combining IBM's consulting services with SEEC's Mosaic Studio technology provides customers with a comprehensive solution to unlock the business value in their legacy applications."

This agreement, SEEC said would enable organisations with legacy applications to adapt those applications for the future and build collaborative business processes in an incremental approach that delivers long-term value and near-term ROI. With SEEC and IBM Global Services and Software Group's integrated offering, organizations can simultaneously reduce application maintenance costs and incrementally transform applications to match business priorities in manageable, efficient steps.
