According to Prof Bhadra, over 210 companies participated in the campus recruitment exercise organised by MSB. The school currently has own centres at Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mysore, Patna, Pune, Raipur and Visakhapatnam.
The ICFAI board member, Mr N.J. Yasaswy said that most of the Indian universities were currently short of funds as a result of State Governments shifting their focus towards primary education.
Expecting nearly five-fold increase in number of institutes in the higher education arena in the next 20 years, he said private sector was better equipped in filling the gap and offering quality higher education.
Illustrating the Andhra Pradesh Budget for 2005-06, Mr Yasaswy said the State proposed to allocate Rs 1,100 crore to education out of the total budgetary outlay of Rs 50,000 crore.
Of the Rs 234-crore earmarked for 17 universities in the State, four major universities would take away nearly Rs 200 crore, leaving the rest of 13 universities to adjust with around Rs 34 crore among them, he said.
