Markets Sensex closes 129 points up; Auto, Metal surge MUMBAI: The Sensex ended the session with a gain of 129.50 points at 17,360.61 driven by fund buying and sectoral indices. The Nifty was up by 33.8 points at 5,178.40. Major Sensex gainers were RIL, ONGC, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Hindalco Industries, HDFC Bank and ITC. Major losers were Reliance Communications, Jaiprakash Associates and Bharti Airtel. Volume toppers were Tata Steel, DLF, RIL, Tata Motors and Hindalco Industries. Among the sectoral indices, Auto was up by 1.5%, Realty 0.8%, Metal 1.42%, Oil & Gas 0.9% and CD 1.07%. Heavyweights like Tata Motors was up by 4.43%, Hindalco Industries 2.97%, Reliance Infra 2.87%, M&M 2.05% and Tata Steel 2.06%.
