Agri-Business Biomin to provide Myctoxin solutions to farmers NEW DELHI: Animal healthcare product maker Biomin plans to take up a large scale marketing activity in the country to promote its veterinary feed 'Mycofix'. The company claimed that Mycofix can help farmers in managing risk posed by the problem of 'Mycotoxin' in India. Mycotoxin is the contamination caused by fungus to the animal and bird feed, and it results into a host of diseases. “Our representative would take up a country wide contact programme with farmers in which we would organise awareness campaigns, expos and other such activities for them,” Biomin Asia Regional Director, Mr Robert Nichol has said. The company has recently tied with dairy major 'Amul' for conducting clinical trials for its cattle feed products and is now looking for more such tie ups with private dairy player. “We collect feed samples from the farmers and they are sent to our labs in Singapore for testing. After this we provide a complete solution to the farmers to control this problem,” he said. The company has clocked a turnover of Rs 2.2 crore last year and is targeting sales of Rs 4 crore this year. – PTI
