Steel remains steady in thin trade

NEW DELHI: Steady conditions developed in the wholesale steel market on Saturday with most of the prices after moving in a tight range on some support, ended at previous closing. Arrivals and offtake also remained at low ebb with poor volume.

Traders said negligible buying by stockists due to slow down in constructions activity following monsoon season mainly kept steel prices at previous levels.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per tonne:

CTD saria (Kamdhenu) 8-mm, 33,100, 10-mm, 33,100, 12-mm 33,200, 16-25 mm 33,300 and 25-32 mm Rs 33,200. Rathi tor steel : 8-mm 34,000, 10-mm 34,100, 12-mm 34,500, 16-20 mm 34,100 and 25-32 mm 33,900.

Saria Jai Bharat (iso 9002) 8-mm 33,400, 10 mm 33,300 12-mm 33,100, 16-25 mm 33,100. Amba saria (iso-9002) 8-mm 33,300, 10-mm 33,200, 12-mm 33,200, 16-25-mm 33,300.
