MUMBAI: Kalanidhi Maran-led Sun TV Network on Thursday said the company's net profit rose by 35.11 per cent at Rs 108.31 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2008 over the corresponding period year ago. The company had a net profit of Rs 80. 16 crore in the second quarter last fiscal, a company filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange said.

Income from operations rose to Rs 237.88 crore for the quarter under review, from Rs 194.45 crore for the same period year ago.

For the six month ended September 30, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 210.85 crore, against Rs 173.23 crore for the same period previous fiscal. Income from operations of Sun TV Network rose to Rs 461.45 crore for the half year ended September 30, 2008 from Rs 396.79 crore for the same period last year. - PTI
