Take temporary power connection: MP power co

BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Central Zone Power Distribution Company has asked groups setting up religious tableaux or organising festivals to take temporary electricity connection to meet their need.

Power to these organisations would be supplied by installing temporary meters and billing would be done as per domestic rates, a company release said here said on Saturday.

An intending consumer should deposit the security money and expected consumption, it said. Those intending to set up tableaux on the occasions of `Ganesh Chaturthi', `Anant Chaturthi', `Durgatsav' or any other event may apply for temporary power connecti on to their nearest distribution centre or assistant engineer.

The company warned that in case of illegal consumption legal action would be taken against the consumer as well as the contractor under the Electricity Act, 2003.

“The licence of the contractor concerned might also be cancelled,” the release said. - PTI
