Costlier on the road
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has increased the prices of both the Santro and the Accent. The increase in the Santro's price is 2.08 per cent.
The Santro LE now costs Rs 3.43 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), while the Santro LS zipDrive costs Rs 3.85 lakh. Likewise, the Accent GLS now costs Rs 6.39 lakh and the Accent GLX is more expensive by 2.04 per cent at Rs 6.99 lakh.
Justifying the hike, the company explained that due to cost pressures, it initially planned to raise prices by 4 per cent, but has decided to restrict the hike to around two per cent for the moment. -- BL Research Bureau
