IA to operate daily flight to Colombo

INDIAN Airlines will operate a daily daytime Airbus service between Chennai and Colombo with effect from November 9 2001.

According to a press release here, IC 573 will leave Chennai at 1000 hours and reach Colombo at 1150 hours (local time). In the return direction, IC 574 will leave Colombo at 1300 hours (local time) and arrive at Chennai at 1350 hours .

The Boeing 737 operating on this sector and the bi-weekly Boeing flight from Chennai to Colombo via Thiruchirapalli stands withdrawn.

From November 9, flight IC 932 on the Thiruvanthapuram- Chennai sector on Mondays and Fridays will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 1745 hours and arrive Chennai at 1855 hours.

Consequently, IC 766 on these days on the Chennai-Kolkata sector will leave Chennai at 1940 hours and reach Kolkata at 2145 hours. On other days of the week, this flight to Kolkata will operate to the existing schedule.

Alliance Air flights on Saturdays on the Hyderabad-Bhubaneshwar-Kolkata sector and the Wednesday flight on the Hyderabad- Nagpur-Kolkata route stands withdrawn until November 30. IA flights on Wednesdays and Sundays on the Mumbai- Puttaparthy-Mumbai sector too stands withdrawn.
