Consolidated mark sheet
Sir, This is to bring to your kind attention the issue of mark statement to UG/PG students especially distance learning students. The University of Madras does not give consolidated mark statement when a student passes all the papers of the concerned degree examination.
Thus non-issuance of consolidated final mark statement incorporating all the papers of the said degree examination puts the candidate in an embarrassing situation. The presentation to prospective employers across the globe is not convincing, not satisfactory and remains unattractive.
The system does not give the information about the total number of papers passed in the UG/PG degree examination. And finally the system does not present the total marks obtained by the candidate and the class in which he/she has passed.
Non-issuance of consolidated final mark statement shows the haphazard and ineffective way of issuing the mark statements to students.
Some of the universities like IGNOU, Madurai Kamaraj University and University of Delhi issue consolidated final mark statement when a student clears all the papers. The University of Madras should also adopt this method. In today's world, when candidates have to search for jobs in a global environment, mark statements should be legible, readable and informative.
As affected students, we request the authorities concerned to kindly start issuing consolidated final mark statements incorporating all the papers of the said degree examination from this academic year onwards.
