B.Ed. course

Sir, — I am a fresh graduate having completed B.Sc. in May 2001. I have applied for the B.Ed. course and also passed the entrance exam conducted by the TN Government. I could not however get admission because of a G.O., which says that the admission should be on a 80:20 ratio between old and fresh graduates. The education department must be blamed for imposing such rules that hinder aspiring fresh graduates wanting to become teachers. The same graduates will lose the enthusiasm to study B.Ed. once they settle down with family in due course.

Is it not advisable to allow those interested to pursue B.Ed. studies immediately after graduation?
