THE MOTHER of all student festivals is back. Saarang-2005, the annual cultural festival of IIT Madras, is inviting vibrant minds and young hearts to a journey of entertainment and skill tests packed with new events and new initiatives.
With 10,000 students from across the country and 50,000 watts of high decibel music and lakhs of rupees in prize money, the event is one, which can't be missed by students. Just by its sheer magnitude.
State contingent
Rahul Srivatsa, a Hyderabadi at the institute and one of the organisers, wants local students to come and witness the most professionally organised events in the country.
"Participants from the State are growing every year but we want them to be the largest this year," he says inviting all the students. Of course, they make excellent boarding and lodging arrangements for the visitors.
A lot of event are being organised this year. Just take a peek. A classical show by Aman and Ayan Ali on January 21, rock show by Moksha and Orange Street on January 22, light music show by KK on January 25 and jazz show by Prasanna and company on January 26.
